Back to School Supplies - San Pedro

Hello Friends and Family!
Many of you have heard me mention my summer 2016 project and I have opened a "Go Fund Me" for those who would like to participate monetarily.
I am excited to announce that both my mom (Regina) and I have began a school drive for my little friends in San Pedro (Dominican Republic)! Last year, my mom and I visited San Pedro and decided to bring backpacks full of school supplies for my Fiance's family. The outcome was amazing! I am proud to say that a year later, they have shown great enthusiam for learning. Who knew such a little gesture would go such a long way?
When I returned to the states, I already thought to myself "Next year has to be 100% better".
So with that said, I'd like to invite you all to join me in assembling 100+ backpacks fully stocked with notebooks, pencils and more!
I have already put together 25 backpacks with the help of a few dear friends. My plan is to ship these to a local church that I personally know will distribute these fairly. They are "Iglesia Pentecostal" located in the heart of San Pedro de Macorix.
Whatever donation is given will go towards purchasing more backpacks along with a set of school supplies. School begins in August 2016 so ideally, we would like ship everything by later July.
For those who would like to have some fun and donate supplies, below is a list of what each backpack should include:
-1 Medium Nuetral Colored Backpack
- 7 Notebooks (Preferrably standard black/white ruled)
- 10 Pencils
- 1 Small Box of Crayons or Colored Pencils
- 1 Ruler, Child Safe Scissors, Pencil Sharpener and Pencil Case.
Feel free to add anything extra such as coloring books or highlighters! Shipping address can be provided upon request.
Learning is so important and no one should ever be denied an education. Some children aren't able to even begin their first day of school without having the required school supplies!
