BACWTT Building Renovation Fund

Tax deductible
Annual Appeal 2021-2022

Dear Friends,

Our renovation project is moving forward well and, with the deep cleaning nearly complete, we are beginning to put up new materials. It is a wonderful process to bring new life into a previously neglected structure, and to know that we are transforming it into a healthy space where important ideas and experiences will be able to be shared with the wider community.
This building served the East Bay Waldorf School well for many years and, with this new injection of energy and resources, it will be able to serve BACWTT, the Wildcat Canyon Community School and the Waldorf movement in the SF Bay Area for years to come.
It is very satisfying to renew an old building, which has a “patina” of service to Waldorf education and a history of bringing this gift into the lives of children and adults. We are connecting to this long stream of good will and building on that with our present intentions.

Thanks to a number of generous donations received by check, foundation grants and here on GoFundMe, we have now raised $75,000.  Our goal is to fundraise $100,000 for this project.

If you haven't made a contribution yet, please consider supporting this important development for BACWTT.

For 21 years, the Bay Area Center for Waldorf Teacher Training has successfully provided a thorough and transformative 3-year Waldorf teacher training program. Graduates of BACWTT hold teaching positions and positions of responsibility in most, if not all, of our local Waldorf schools.

We provide an important center in the San Francisco Bay Area dedicated to Anthroposophic adult education and the cultivation of strength for the Waldorf movement in contemporary society. We think it is time for us to have a physical presence that is more in line with the work we are doing and the vision that we hold for the Bay Area.

In collaboration with the Wildcat Canyon Community School, we are about to renovate and beautify the large classroom that is next to the current BACWTT office. Although a humble project by some standards, this will be an important step in making BACWTT more visible and tangible, and will also allow us to create a welcoming presence.

The renovation will create new spaces for our reception office, bookstore and library, an adult education classroom and a kitchen/faculty meeting space. A new deck and porch will improve the lines of the building and create an inviting entrance. Our existing office will also be improved to create a dedicated teaching space.

This will be a positive step in furthering BACWTT’s ability to provide a center for Anthroposophic adult education activities in Northern California, and we will continue to align with and support the exciting innovations that the Wildcat Canyon Community School is making.
