Bad Axe Theatre Marquee Restoration Fund
Donation protected
The Bad Axe Theatre has been a cornerstone in the area for over 100 years, and with time comes improvements, updates, and maintenance. The Bad Axe Theatre is the only cinema in the thumb of Michigan with 4K projection and high frame rate 3D.
Mark is also the owner of Longshot Lanes Bar and Games and has struggled to keep his businesses afloat since the pandemic began two years ago. Shutting down for nine months made it very difficult to make repairs to either of the businesses. Throughout the pandemic, Mark was able to secure two grants to pay the employees and keep the lights on. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough to repair the marquee. The first item on the long list was replacing the roof of the marquee that extends over the sidewalk in front of the building. That project was completed by Booms Construction for $12,000. The rest of the marquee will be repaired in two phases by Mr. Neon out of Detroit. The first phase will cost $11,729, which includes rewiring the entire sign, neon transformers, new neon, and neon repairs, as well as labor. The second phase of repairs includes new access panels, and all new neon units and antique glass, as well as labor, which will cost $13,498. That gives us a grand total cost $37,227.
Any amount you are able to donate will be greatly appreciated; your donation is also tax deductible.
