BROOKLINE ACADEMY OF DANCE: RECOVERY FUND
Donation protected
Brookline Academy of Dance is asking for help from the community, as it attempts to rebuild and start over after being destroyed by a tragic fire. The studio space has been a part of the Boston Dance Community for 50+ years, transitioning from Ballet Etc under the direction of Idy Codington to Brookline Academy of Dance under the direction of Mellissa “Buffy” Rando, and we are in desperate need of assistance.
For many dancers, The Academy has been a safe place and home for them to grow, create, explore, and express. The Academy provides weekly classes for students 3 - 18 years old, as well as provide space for professional Companies-In-Residence to rehearse, host classes, and conduct workshops.
After taking the time to go through inventory of the studio, the number needed to start over and replace all that was lost is a jarring $70,000. Any and all help is appreciated in this time of need.
This has been the most unimaginable and humbling experience. However, we know that through the love and support of the community, Brookline Academy of Dance will overcome this shocking moment in time.
Thank you in advance for your help, and we look forward to dancing again soon.
