Bader Family Wish Trip

Hello, my name is Deborah Johnston. I met my best friend, Michelle, our freshman year of college. We caused some trouble together as roommates and became life long friends. She was a bridesmaid in my wedding and I in hers.  When Michelle first told me about her husband Luke's diagnosis of a rare bone cancer just a few short months after they were married, I was devastated for them. Unfortunately Luke had his leg amputated to keep the cancer from spreading and then chemotherapy treatment. Luke and Michelle were thankful for three healthy children after Luke's recovery yet life has never been what they envisioned.  Pain, illness and medical complications have been a constant in their lives.  Consistently each year, Michelle would have hopes of getting their family to Disneyland as this was always something she and Luke hoped to do with their kids together. Michelle is the hardest working person I know, sometimes working as many as 5 different jobs to keep their family going while Luke did as much as he could but pain and illnesses have made it impossible for him to work.  Despite this, Michelle remains to be not only the hardest working person I know but also the most hopeful! Each year that passed and they didn't make it to Disneyland together, she would start the mission again, always to be disappointed when the bills were just too many. 
This past week, Luke was diagnosed with the same rare type of cancer that has redeveloped in his lungs. This stage IV reality has hit this family hard. They are full heartedly looking into any possible treatment and clinging to the Lord and hope. 
So this is it. It is now my mission to get this family to Disneyland...and soon.  Luke will turn 40 on December 30th and the Bader's need a celebration this Christmas. Will you partner with me to make this memorable trip happen for the Baders?  This can happen! $6000 is an attainable goal and the memories a trip like this will make will be priceless. I am hoping Michelle and Luke will be able to surprise their kids together on Christmas morning with the gift of a trip to Disneyland. They have never flown, never been to Disneyland and this is the time for this to happen. Thank you!!
