Bagels & Coffee for New York Presbyterian Queens

As of this morning, Queens has over 18,000 cases of COVID-19 and that number is growing by the hour- the world's borough has become the epicenter of this global pandemic. Our hospitals are overwhelmed. Our local doctors and nurses are on the front lines, working overtime in the Emergency Room and the newly dedicated COVID Units to take care of an unprecedented number of patients... and often in ways that they would have never imagined having to do. They hold the hands of the ostracized, reassure them when they're scared, and set up phone and Skype calls so that they can stay in touch with their loved ones in the outside world. To add to their challenges, these healthcare workers, as well as the staff that support them- hospital security, engineers, electricians, and housekeeping staff- are risking their own health in the process of caring for us. Let's thank them. 

My family is raising money to send bagels and coffee to various departments at New York Presbyterian Queens. It's the least we can do as a community to show how much we appreciate our heroes. 

I thought about collecting drawings and messages of thank you and hope, but in the interest of limiting the spread of germs, I've decided against that. If you would like to send me a thank you picture or message from your family, email it to me at [email redacted] and I will make sure it gets to the staff, whether it be digitally or printed and delivered by my gloved hands. I'm also looking for suggestions on where to order from, as I'd like to use the funds to support a local business in need. 

A little about me, I'm a Queens native--born, raised, and self-quarantined in Whitestone. I'm a law student planning on going into public service, and I'm also the daughter of a local primary care physician.
