Bagpipes - Devans Western Band

Dear Old Devans,

 

We are writing this letter to request a donation to buy 4 Bagpipes to our school’s western band. As you are aware, our school’s western band started 30 years ago and it has made significant progress during the last few decades. However, we were informed by the Teacher-in-charge and the school principal, that the lack of equipment has made it a bit difficult to stay in a competitive environment in the top schools in Sri Lanka (Please see the attached letter from School Principal). We, as Old Devans and/ or past members of the western band strongly feel that we can help the band to be the number one western band in Sri Lanka’s top school system.  

 

Current students demonstrated that they are capable of taking our band to the next level by using rented bag pipes during the last band show at the 2019 big match. Renting bag pipes are very expensive (Rs. 3000-5000/ 4 pipes /day) and school western band does not have the budget provisions to make this happen. Therefore, we would greatly appreciate any donation you can make for this project to be successful. We have estimated that 4 good quality bagpipes will cost around US $ 3900 (This include 4 bag pips, $ 825 X 4 + Tax + Shipping to Sri Lanka). Should you make a donation for this project, please use go fund to donate. We will inform you about the detailed budget and official letter from the school principal at the end of the project.
