Baguette About It - New store in West Village

Hi! My name is Richaud Valls and I'm the founder of Richaud.nyc: " Baguette About It,” a bakery bringing you the taste of France with the kindness of the West Village. I started this page to raise funds to rent a new store in West Village and open my bakery. Thank you so much for sharing and donating to this page! Here's my story:
After my film production box went out of business due to the coronavirus pandemic, I decided to continue a project I’d abandoned months prior: to re-create the baguettes I used to eat as a kid in France. In Paris, you smell the boulangerie on your way to school in the morning. The baguettes were crunchy with a lot of air inside. I wanted to re-create that feeling.
So I set out, at home in my small West Village apartment in Manhattan, to find my perfect baguette recipe. Eventually, I ended up with a batch that brought me right back to my childhood.
I made more and more of my baguettes, and shared my creations on Facebook, Instagram, and NextDoor. Soon enough, I was getting calls from my neighbors to whom I started hand delivering my baguettes fresh from the oven. The feedback was amazing!
Not only was I gaining new customers, I was also making new friends. “For those stuck at home during the pandemic, seeing a friendly face bring homemade bread right to their door was a pleasant respite from a world of self-isolation.”
Word went around of my baguettes, and I quickly became known as “The Bread Guy”. What had originally started as passion project was becoming a flourishing small business, and I couldn’t be happier with the smiles I was bringing to my neighbors as well as the quality I was bringing to their plates.
Skip to present: appearances in Governor Cuomo’s newsletter , a New Yorker Magazine article , and German television, as well as full articles for GrubStreet and Forbes Magazine have caused my business to grow beyond what I could have ever imagined. And I have no intention to stop here.
This is where you come in. Since day 1, quality and humanity have been my values. I come to you for help to keep my business afloat, so that I don’t have to compromise. I need to open my store in WestVillage, buy an electric bike, and find a better workspace to keep my promise alive. If you can help me check those boxes, I can keep serving you the taste of France with the emblematic kindness of West Village, whether you eat my baguettes at home or at your favorite restaurant. With $30000 we can make this happen.
Whether you donate or not, I want to thank you for being here today to read my story. Thank you for taking time out of your day for my business and my passion. For those of you who decide to take money out of your pocket so Richaud.nyc "Baguette About It"can prosper, I cannot extend enough gratitude to you. I can’t wait to make your next orders.
Have a great day,
Richaud Valls
