Bahamas Dorian Supplies Fund

My name is Sarah Thompson and I live in Jupiter, FL. My husband and I are raising money to purchase supplies for the Bahamians who were recently effected by Hurricane Dorian. We spend many weekends crossing back and forth. So many of our family vacations and memories revolve around these islands. The goal for us is compassion, empathy, and sympathy for those Bahamian people affected by the cat 5 hurricane Dorian. In other words, exactly what we would hope others would do for us if we found ourselves in the same position is why we are organizing this relief effort. From a personal side, we deal with the Bahamian people almost every other weekend. They’ve been great to us and are virtually family when we “cross”. The islands’ waters provide fish, conch, and diving. The people provide the smiles flanking our times on the water.  Our monetary goals will go 100% to supplies so we can deliver as much as possible to the people of the northern Bahamas. Fuel and time will be our contribution.
I, Sarah Thompson, will personally withdraw the funds we raise here. I will use these funds to purchase supplies needed for those victims at stores such as Costco and Home Depot. I will then take the supplies and load our boat to personally transport over to West End. Once we have arrived in West End the supplies will be handed off to the members of one of the Bahamian churches for fair distribution. 
We are also collecting supplies at our home from anyone who wishes to personally drop donations off for our crossings over. Please contact me if you wish to do so! 
I plan to make multiple trips to deliver supplies to those in need. In our first trip will will deliver essentials: water, food, feminine hygiene, clothing items, toothbrushes, toothpaste, canned goods, nonperishables, cleaning supplies, blankets, tarps, hammers, nails, diapers, formula, wipes, etc. 
Once we unload in Bahamas and they have gone through the first round of donations from everyone crossing with boatloads of supplies they will let us know what is needed from that point for another trip. Updates will be made on here and my Facebook page along the way!
