Bahamas Water Polo going for World Championships

In 2018, the Bahamas National Water Polo team placed 2nd at the Central American and Caribbean Amateur Swimming Confederation (CCCAN) competition. This silver medal qualified them to compete in the 2019 Junior Pan American games which is the qualifying competition for Junior World Championships!
Over the last year, the team has been training diligently and competing to be able to make the Bahamas proud by being the first water polo team to reach the Junior World Championships. The team recently won the GOLD medal at CARIFTA (against the collection of countries aligned in the Caribbean Free Trade Agreement) for the 3rd year straight! Team players are consistently awarded MVP, High Goal Scorer, Best Goalie and Best Defender at these competitions
With the exception of CARIFTA, tournament costs are the burden of the families. Each year, players contribute not only up to 2 hours of training 6 days per week, but also up to $5,000 a year in training and travel expenses.
This year, 2019, the assistance usually received to participate as the Bahamas National Water Polo Team has not been granted and once again, the burden of payment falls on the parents. This limits the players that are eligible to participate to those who can afford to pay versus being able to select the players who are best suited.
The team is seeking funding to be able to participate in CCCAN 2019 July 3-8 in Barbados in order to prepare them for Jr. Pan Am 2019 and this tournament will further benefit the team by providing the opportunity to qualify for Jr. Pan Am 2020.
Additionally, the team also needs funding for Jr. Pan Am 2019 being held August 14-24 in Trinidad. Partial funding has been provided by Bahamas Aquatics Federation, but the balance still needs to be raised. This tournament is necessary to qualify the team for Junior World Championships (the equivalent of the Olympics for youth sports) in 2020.
If you are able to assist in any form it is greatly appreciated and will go directly to fund these two tournaments.
