Request for Help@Bailey Mackander Coronial Inquest
We respectfully advise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people that this page contains images of a deceased person.
Please donate to support Bailey Mackander's mother to travel to and attend the Coronial Inquest for her son on 26th April, 2021 at The State Coroner's Court in Lidcombe, Sydney.
Bailey Mackander fell approximately 10 metres to his death – while in custody on remand, after receiving treatment at Gosford Hospital and being transferred by Corrective Services NSW to Kariong Correctional Centre on the New South Wales Central Coast in early November, 2019.
He was airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital in critical condition but was subsequently declared deceased. He was a 20-year-old Indigenous man.
Your donation (big or small) will help support Bailey's mother to travel and attend the Coronial Inquest scheduled for Monday 26th April, 2021 at Lidcombe Coroner's Court. Thank you for your generosity – the family is grateful for any contribution you can make.
Please remember Bailey Mackander – his tragic death is just one of the 474+ Aboriginal deaths in custody since the conclusion of the Royal Commission into Aboriginal Deaths in Custody 30 years ago, this week in 1991.
