Bailey's Cancer Fund
Donation protected
My name is Bailey Smith. I am a nurse and I have four children. A week ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer. On February 28th, I awakened with a swollen arm and left breast. I had had some pain and discomfort in my breast, but I was “certain” it was menopausal hormones and stress due to taking my board exam for nursing which I just finished. I went in Monday for an ultrasound, that Wednesday for a mammogram, biopsies on March 7th and 9th with the results read to me over the phone on Monday the 14th. I have been an emotional wreck; so much is on hold.
This past Monday the 21st, I went in for a breast MRI to stage it and due to inflammation, it was inclusive. The next step is lymph node biopsy on Thursday the 24th. If it is positive for cancer, I start chemotherapy with surgery mid April. If negative, I'm not sure about meds, but more than likely, I'll still have surgery to have both breasts removed as there is suspicion in the right breast as well.
This is all happening very quickly so getting these funds as soon as possible would be overwhelmingly helpful due to my uncertain living situation and need to support my youngest daughter. I appreciate anything you could offer so much its beyond words. I still can't believe this is happening, thank you for anything you can do.
