Please help Bakary & Izzy achieve their dream…

Hi, our names are Bakary Darboe & Izzy Bailey. We have been doing karate since the age of 4… our dream is to one day become world champions.

We are both on the England karate squad & hope to represent our country at the world championships later this year as well as at major events in the future.

To help achieve our goal we must compete at an elite level at every opportunity, between now and the end of the year we are competing in:

UNFORTUNATELY ALL OF THIS IS SELF FUNDED!! Every abroad competition, flight, hotel & competition entry is paid for by ourselves.

We are determined to make our dream a reality and become world & European champions…. But we need your help to get there!!!

A little about each of us is below:

BAKARY DARBOE:

I started my karate journey at the age of 4 with Sensei Tom and since then it has become my passion!

I was first selected for the England karate squad I’m September 2021, becoming Sensei Toms first student to be on the National

squad. After training with the squad for 6 months I was given my first England cap & represented my country at the European championship in Prague - this was such a proud moment and the feeling has made me hungry for more success!!

I have since been selected to compete at the upcoming commonwealth games & hope to win my 3rd England cap of the year for the World championships in October.

IZZY BAILEY

Like Bakary, I started karate with Sensei Tom at the age of 4 - I was his first ever student!

I have competed from a young age and have regularly won medals throughout England, unfortunately in 2018 I suffered a horrific knee injury which kept me out of karate for almost 3 years. I didn’t know if I would be able to compete again… so when I was selected for the England squad last month it was such a proud & emotional moment for myself, family and my Sensei!

I have since been selected to represent South England in Luxembourg and will be competing at the commonwealth club games in September!
