Help Bakary & Sameer go the European Championships

We have had two students who have been selected to represent England at the upcoming Cadet, Junior, U21 European Championships in Georgia

Bakary Darboe (17) from Carterton, Oxfordshire

Sameer Hasib (14) from Wolvercote, Oxford

Both boys have been training in our karate classes since the age of 4. They now train between 3-5 times per week, often with National training or competitions at the weekend. They are heavily dedicated to their sport and are determined to make their country proud.

The boys will be flying out with the England karate squad & coaches on Monday 5th February 2024. They will compete on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th. The finals would be on the Sunday should they make it to that stage of the tournament.

Only one athlete from England gets selected per weight & age category to compete against the other countries who also select only one per category. It’s an incredible achievement to be selected and the event will be on the highest stage possible and live-streamed.

Unfortunately Karate is a Self-Funded sport and competition, equipment and training costs are higher than ever. We are hoping to raise some funds for the boys for the upcoming European Championships and take some of the financial strain off of the families.
