Baked With Gratitude

TWO BOYS WHO WANT TO SHOW THEIR GRATITUDE TO THEIR TOWN IN A VERY SWEET WAY.
This Memorial Day weekend, Joshua and Matthew Portnoy had plans to run the Spring Lake Five Mile Run to kick off summer with thousands of others runners.
Since the race has been postponed due to Covid-19, they decided to do something else to bring the community together.
On race day, May 23, they will be delivering baskets of cookies and candies with thank you notes from the community to the Spring Lake First Responders as a show of gratitude, and we hope you'll join us! While we planned to bake at home, safety regulations have made us change our plans slightly, but we will still be making sweet baskets of thanks :)
All proceeds will be donated to Fulfill Monmouth & Ocean County Food Bank.
More information about Fulfill (Fulfill): Fulfill’s mission is to alleviate hunger and build food security in Monmouth & Ocean Counties and to make sure that people have access to enough nutritious food to maintain an active and healthy life. We’re doing more than ever to change lives in our communities for the better. We focus on more than food distribution. We are committed to fulfill more of the needs of our neighbors and win the battle against hunger. We have adopted a comprehensive approach that goes beyond providing food and helps those in need get to a place where they can get back on their feet for good. Ending hunger in our communities is a complex challenge, so Fulfill provides a full suite of programs to provide the resources people need to become self-sufficient.
