Expand Bakehouse 138
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Carole Anne. I’m a mother to 4 beautiful kiddos under the age of 6. Clearly, I’m insane. January 01, 2023 I began making and selling vegan donuts to our community out of my home kitchen. It took off unexpectedly, and by unexpectedly I mean immediately. My husband and I have invested upwards of 20k of our savings to keep the dream alive and satisfy demand. From commercial mixers, fryers, and a proofing cabinet- the equipment list continues to grow. While I may not live to experience an animal cruelty-free world, I truly believe in my heart that with each donut sold, we are a step away from dependency on animal-based products. Many of our regular customers are not vegan/vegetarian. This speaks great volumes!
Our community has been SO amazing throughout this journey and I see no signs of stopping. Donations will go directly to the expansion of Bakehouse. With the following maintenance and devices, not only will we be able to produce more efficiently, we will be able to serve many more people in and outside of our region which will in turn coincide with bringing down the dependency on animal-based products:
-Maintenance on our Hobart mixer which is currently out of order: this is a $700 fix. We are working out of our smaller mixer and it’s showing clear signs of overuse.
-commercial fridge/freezer/oven/dough mixer
-dough divider/sheeter
-donut glazing station
-stainless steel tables, utensils, mixing bowls
-sustainably sourced packaging
-Mobile trailer to fry on site and spread our message
-HVAC renovation, for the trailer and our home base. We are currently working out of a 12x15 room surrounded by windows with no heat or air conditioning.
Thank you so much, please check back for updates!
