Baker to Vegas - Oceanside Police Department

The Oceanside Police Department is excited to participate in the 2023 Baker to Vegas Challenge Cup. The relay is a grueling 120 mile running race through the desert. It begins in Baker, CA and ends in Las Vegas, NV. The race hosts hundreds of teams comprised entirely of men and women working in law enforcement. Teams travel from all over the world to compete against each other in a test of physical endurance and teamwork. This is truly one of the most positive events held for law enforcement and emphasizes the importance of physical health and mental wellness.

Faced with extremely stressful and dangerous responsibilities on a daily basis, it is vitally important for the men and women in law enforcement to be strong and healthy in both their mind and body. When you help fund our team’s race experience, each dollar contributed helps support and inspire our local Oceanside officers to reach a new health and wellness goal.

A mentally strong and physically fit officer is better equipped to make sound decisions, remain calm under stress and accomplish physically demanding tasks with less effort and a reduced risk of injury. All this translates to an individual who is better suited to serve our wonderful community.

Each of the 25 officers running and our dedicated support crew are an integral part of our Oceanside community. Your contribution allows for them to feel supported in their efforts by funding entry fees, equipment, transportation, achievements and their overall experience.
