Hero Needs a Helping Hand: Bakhmut Brad Recovery

Hello friends and Bakhmut Brad Supporters!

We are the Bakhmut Brad team, a group of volunteers who have been working with Brad to help him recover from a recent heart attack, suffered after a year of providing dangerous humanitarian aid to the citizens of Ukraine’s war-torn eastern borders. Brad is an amazing human being who has tirelessly dedicated himself to helping others, and now it's time for us to help him. We are asking for your support to ensure that Brad gets the care he needs to fully recover.

Who is Bakhmut Brad: Brad is an American citizen who has spent the past year in the eastern region of Ukraine on a personal humanitarian aid mission. He has been evacuating elderly, disabled, or otherwise incapacitated Ukrainian citizens in dire need of escape from areas along the besieged eastern front. Brad has also been delivering food, medical supplies, and stoves to people as winter descended on places like Bakhmut. The Challenges Brad Faced: Brad's work has not been easy. He spent an incredible amount of his own money to purchase life-saving medical supplies and, after a year of routine near-death experiences and myriad traumas, the murders of three fellow volunteers, living out of his backpacks, and sustaining himself on the food available to him in these situations, his big heart decided it had too much and he suffered a heart attack.

Why Brad Needs Your Help: We are raising money to pay for Brad's recovery. He needs healthy food, competent care, calm places to rest and recover, and money to pay his bills until he is able to return to work. We want to ensure that Brad gets the care he needs to recover fully so that he can continue to do the humanitarian work he loves.
