Balcony Qua-RUN-tine for Hope For Life Kenya
Donation protected
For every $100 donated to Hope For Life COVID-19 aid, Jeff and Allyson will run 1k on our balcony. The goal is to tag team a marathon (42 kilometers, $4,200 total donations).
The impact of the coronavirus is severely felt in Kenya, where Jeff's parents Scott & Barb live. Scott & Barb work closely with an organization called Hope for Life which cares for the most vulnerable children by providing a feeding program and educational support. With food prices escalating and physical distancing in effect due to COVID-19, the HFL staff delivers meals to these children in their homes and, unfortunately, most of these orphans are eating only one meal a day.
Help us go the extra mile mile (or kilometer) to support this critical feeding program!
- We will broadcast the balcony run on Instagram Live on Saturday, May 9th at 9 AM. Follow @jharbert7 to see our balcony run.
- For any donations of $250 or more, we will listen to an artist or playlist of your choice for a 1k.
Our balcony is 10 x 6' in size and it turns out that Fitbit's GPS technology isn't well suited for tracking distance in that small of a space so we'll be approximating the distance by steps (1k = 1,300 steps). In an effort to avoid physical therapy, we'll cap the distance at 42k but more donations are welcome!
