Baldwin Family: Help Us Get Into Our New Home!
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Jessee and I am a single mom to 4 amazing children! I would like to share a bit of our story and what we are asking help with. If this touches you and you are able to give, we would be extremely grateful. Many of you reading this came here from my Facebook profile and you know a lot of our story, but for those who don’t know, I will start with what we need and why we are asking and then give more backstory to our family.
I am asking for help getting into our 1st home that we own! After countless rejections and putting in offer after offer, we finally had an offer accepted! We were so excited! Unfortunately, just days after the owner accepted our offer, he unexpectantly passed away. We didn’t give up hope! God has moved so many things into place for us to still be able to close on this home but it came with multiple delays in which my financing changed, interest rate locks had to be extended, and my closing costs more than doubled, almost completely depleting my renovation budget.
This home is wonderful, but it was lived in really hard. It is a cosmetic fixer upper and I love the sweat equity we have the opportunity to build. Due to the interior conditions of the home, we cannot move in and due to the increase in my funds to close, I was left with very little cash to get us to actually be able to move in. So, I am asking for help so I can accomplish these necessary things:
1. Pest control (there are rat droppings in home/garage, underneath and attic)
2. Replace flooring, raise subfloor in one location
3. Repaint entire home interior
4. Repair/Replace Oven range
5. Replace toilets/master shower
That is our list of needs to get into our new home! Myself, along with some friends, will be doing the majority of the work ourselves. I am crowd sourcing for the funds to do what we need to do to get into our home. School starts in just a few weeks and we need to get in as soon as possible so I’m not juggling both a rent and a mortgage payment.
My backstory: Due to circumstances beyond our control, my family moved from California to Washington state in August of 2020. We were unable to keep our family dog, Hollee, and she has been under the loving care of family friends for 2 years now. The owner of our rental is also now selling, so we are under a time crunch to get our home move in ready!
When I asked the kids what they were most excited about, my daughter Kiersten said she is most excited to be able to hang pictures and painting on the walls and claim her room as her own. My daughter, Kaydee, is most excited to have her dog back and also to have a room to call her own. My daughter, Kynzee, just wants the family to be together and to have family game nights and cuddle at Christmastime. My son, Nicholas, is over the top excited about having a backyard to play in! This home has a separate workshop and the kids have all claimed that structure as their playhouse. I don’t know what that’s going to look like yet, but they are excited about it!
I will be updating this page frequently with progress on the home! I will upload photos of the home and the projects needing to be done. I really need more than $5K so if more than that is raised, that would be beyond my hope for this. Thank you for reading and bookmark this page to follow our journey! Thank you!!!
