Bali to Java swim for charity

Hi, my name is Lucia Janssen and I am raising money for an organisation called SWIMDO located in Keramas, Bali, Indonesia. This organisation prevents drownings in Indonesia by offering free survival swimming and water safety classes to people in Indonesia. This cause is important because drowning is a major cause of death, especially for children. Many drowning deaths could be prevented by teaching people to swim and taking safety precautions around water.
I was born in New York city in 2010, and raised in Bali and Singapore. I am a competitive swimmer, and have competed internationally since I was 9 years old. I am currently part of an elite swim squad called KLIMSWIM here in Bali, started by former olympian Micheal Klim. As a student at Green School Bali my 8th grade project is to raise money and awareness for SWIMDO, by swimming from Bali to Java, a swim along the treacherous Bali Strait. If I complete this task not only would I be the only female to do it, I would be the youngest to ever swim it.
Im excited to bring awareness to this amazing organisation.
