Basketball as a Tool for Youth Development

Tax deductible
Do you believe basketball can be used as a tool to help youth grow on and off the court? Do you believe all youth deserve more access to education beyond the limits of what is offered in the "core curriculum" of our schools? Give more low income Bay Area youth access to Ball for Life Oakland (a fiscally sponsored project of L.C. and Lillie Cox Haven of Hope*) programming which uses basketball as a tool for Social Emotional Learning , mindfulness and wellness. Over the past two plus years, Ball for Life Oakland has worked with hundreds of low income youth through our partnerships with Aim High, OUSD, Oakland Unity Middle School and Explore Schools. Our programming, designed by an educator with over a decade of Social Emotional Learning informed curriculum development experience in partnership with a basketball skill trainer, has proven results. We see the impact of our programming on the youth we work with and this impact is reflected in the quantitative and qualitative feedback we regularly collect from youth and partners. With your support, we will be able to serve more youth through subsidizing our programming so that more low income schools can provide their students access to basketball as a tool to develop Social Emotional Learning, wellness and mindfulness. We are a local organization and our highly skilled coaches reflect the communities they serve. We work primarily with schools and community organizations so that all youth can access our programming. If we have additional funds from this campaign we will also be able to provide scholarships for any upcoming camps that we offer .

*Ball for Life Oakland can accept tax deductible donations through a fiscal sponsor agreement with L.C. and Lillie Cox Haven of Hope. As such, your tax deductible donation will be made out to L.C. Lillie Cox Haven of Hope which will collect funds for disbursement to Ball for Life Oakland. For more information on fiscal sponsorship please visit the National Council of Nonprofits
