Ballet Folklorico Academia Gabriela Dance Studio

My name is Gabriela Guerra, and I am the Director of Ballet folklorico Academia Gabriela. I began my academy in 2018 with around 12 students, practicing at my local rec center. Finding spaces to practice has always been difficult. Especially finding a place where we could use our folklorico dance shoes. Since then the academy has grown and we now have our own official dance studio! It is also the first ballet folklorico dance studio in the beaverton/portland metro area. With this space I hope to offer more classes and continue teaching our beautiful traditions to future generations. It’s a very exciting moment for us and the community. Although we’ve been able to make it to this point it’s going to take a lot of work to build up our space, which is why we need your support.

With your help we would like to raise $15,000. We hope this amount will help our start and give us financial space to create a beautiful studio for our students and community.

Being a small latina owned business the first year is the most crucial. Most businesses fail within the first year. Your support would alleviate a lot of financial stress and set us up for success. Let us make history together in creating the first folklorico dance studio in the portland metro!

How we plan to use our funds:

$10,000 – Materials and construction for renovations. (putting up mirrors, building our wooden dance floor, etc.)

$1000 – Furniture - Furnishing our front desk and lobby, cubbies for our students, bathroom & dressing room amenities, etc.

$4,000 – Front door signage, marketing and promotion, graphic designer and art mural.
