Ballet Folklórico de East Palo Alto Academy

Hello, my name is Oram Ramirez and I am a teacher at East Palo Alto Academy (EPAA) sponsoring the Latinx Student Union. Every year, students from the EPAA community perform traditional dances from México at our annual Fiestas Patrias event, a cultural show that promotes the different music, dances, poetry and cuisine from Latin American countries. In the past, our students have been able to perform Folklórico by borrowing skirts, shirts and shoes from people of the community. This year, however, our goal is not only to provide students with the necessary clothing and shoes to be able to perform but also be able to keep them in our High School so that they can be used for future events. By providing our students with the clothing and shoes, we hope that they’ll feel more encouraged to participate as they will no longer be responsible for borrowing or buying these items. I, along with the other members of EPAA, ask you to consider donating and/or spreading the word to help us achieve our goal. The funds raised will be primarily used to purchase Folklorico shoes, as well as skirts and shirts if available funds remain. Any amount donated or a share is sincerely appreciated. Thank you!
