Ballinhassig Flood Prevention Fund

As result of the recent floods , 8 houses got flooded in the Eastern side of Ballinhassig Village. This is the 3rd time , 4th time for some houses that they have got flooded. The OPW have put money in place for a flood barrier to stop the river from flooding these houses but 15 years later nothing has still happened and now the residents have been told it could take another few years before it is done. 

Ballinhassig Village Association in co-operation with the residents have agreed to raise the bank at the back of these houses to try to prevent future flooding until the flood barrier is in place. This will cost money as you can appreciate so that is why we are setting up.a Gofundme page. The money raised hopefully will cover the work to be done and if there is excess money left over it has been decided that it will be given to the Ballinhassig Parish Emergency Fund.
