Balls to the FA

Donation protected
Wimbledon fans support DLAG - and Harry Pell.

Wimbledon fans have set up this GoFundMe to cover the cost of Harry Pell’s fine but also because any money raised over that amount will go to Dons Local Action Group. DLAG is a local charity fighting , food, education and furniture poverty.

DLAG is a local charity to Wimbledon that aims to help those in our local community to fight poverty and offer support - providing food parcels, household goods, furniture and appliances.

Acting with surprising speed to stamp out the most serious threats to the integrity of the game in this country, the FA are fining Harry Pell for his wayward shooting during the warm-up for a fixture at Plough Lane. He managed to shoot wide enough for his accuracy to be considered not in the wider interests of football.

For context the same FA have never apologised for allowing Wimbledon’s team to be moved 80 miles and took no action against the MK-domiciled entity for breaking the (admittedly ridiculous) terms of their accord in changing the name, badge and kit of the franchised club. More outrageously the FA and EFL have never apologised for the insult they added to the commission decision that sanctioned giving Wimbledon’s league place to Milton Keynes by adding “The setting up of a new club, a so called Wimbledon Town, is not in the wider interests of football.”

That so-called Wimbledon Town may have chosen a different name for their rebirth but now play in a new stadium back in Wimbledon (which the FA commission said would be impossible) having won promotion from the bottom of the league pyramid on merit on the pitch (which Pete Winkelman said was impossible and why MK should simply be given someone else’s place). So we are not convinced the FA really understand the interests of football at all.

More recently the FA and EFL have done nothing to present another owner asset stripping an historic football club. They’ve stood idly by while Dai Yonge runs Reading into the ground, yet another failure of football governance in a long line.

So even if the football authorities still don’t have their priorities straight and even if Harry Pell can’t shoot straight - fans can can support him and DLAG with a contribution to this fine cause.
