Ballygawley Bus Bomb site repair
Donation protected
On Friday 2nd October 2020 a memorial, interpretive panels and a display stand for wreaths and poppy crosses was maliciously attacked on the Ballygawley-Omagh road.
The Memorial is located at the scene of The Ballygawley Bus Bomb where eight young soldiers were murdered in 1988 and a further 28 physically and psychologically injured.
Also remembered on the Memorial are other service personnel who were murdered along the Ballygawley road and its' immediate proximity; UDR, Regular Army and RUC.
The funds will go towards restoring what has been destroyed and of also providing some additional security measures at the front of the site. Any balance finance will be used to subsidise the costs of bringing across bereaved families and injured soldier survivors connected directly with the atrocity.
We seek to restore the site by Remembrance Sunday so funds are needed asap.
SEFF manages the site in partnership with local Ballygawley road residents.
