Ballyporeen Outdoor Area and Sensory Garden

We are seeking funding to complete the work on our new Ballyporeen Community and Sensory Garden.
Ballyporeen has always been beautiful Irish village nestled between the mountain ranges of the Galtees and the Knockmealdown mountains in Tipperary. And of course it also has links to Ronald Reagan, well known actors, musicians, sports people and others. The community is a strong one and during these difficult times we are launching a new outdoor community area where we can meet outdoors and enjoy music, conversation and good craic!
The project has made possible by the awarding of a community development grant put together by some of the community council members. While the grant goes a long way, we need to raise another 10K to deliver the whole project to a specification that will make it the best possible space for our community and visitors to enjoy.
We would normally have run local fundraisers, met door-to-door and raised money through things such as Bingo and church collections. Of course this is all not possible at the moment without risking the community so here we are reaching out to those who are in a position to contribute.
If you can help out, you can donate both anonymously or by giving us a shout out which we would also love to hear from you.
Other things that the Ballyporeen Community Council have also been actively doing is engaging and working with the county council to enhance our streetscape with paving works underway, the completion of traffic calming measures, and we have taken responsibility for working with the county council regarding the playground. We are also the first village to be selected for the facade scheme to decorate the houses in the village. These are just a selection of projects that the community council are working on as well as the normal range of activities that go on in our Parochial Hall.
We would like to thank community members for their continual support by utilizing the community facilities, supporting events, and contributing to the community council. Community development would not be possible without your support and this community has generated considerable match funding to allow the community council avail of grants that better the village and parish. This is a remarkable achievement for a community the size of Ballyporeen and one to be proud of.
We of course welcome all visitors to the community from near or far and look forward to your visit.
