Baltimore Health Professionals Mutual Aid Coop

The Baltimore Health Professionals Mutual Aid Cooperative (MAC) is an informal, grassroots group of healthcare workers and trainees which was formed in response to the continuing escalation of the COVID-19 pandemic. We recognize that as this crisis progresses, it is critical that our healthcare system responds to the needs of our community. Healthcare workers, including doctors, nurses, technicians, and other hospital staff, will be on the front-lines of this response, and anything that limits their ability to perform their jobs effectively will be detrimental. Our primary goal is to support healthcare workers through the work of volunteers and material aid so they can continue providing high-quality care to patients. This may include temporary volunteer child care, grocery and cleaning supplies, and other needed assistance. We will focus our financial resources on support staff that may be experiencing hardship during this time as they are not able to work. As the situation is rapidly evolving, it is crucial that we have an adaptable response. While the specific activities of the MAC may change as the needs and our capacity change, our mission of supporting frontline health care staff will remain the same.
