Friends, Family and Community
As most of you know, I’ve been fostering, rehabilitating and facilitating adoptions of many special needs dogs over the years. I continue to be active in the special needs community through my Instagram page, Tripaws. Tonight I find myself on the other side of volunteering and in need of some urgent help for my own dog.
Bones is my 9 month old American Hairless Terrier. I’ve had him since he was 8 weeks old. Ive waited for a dog just like him for years. I chose his breed and him specifically from his littermates based on his temperament with serious intentions of training him in therapy work. I do know wholeheartedly that he has a great potential to succeed in doing that.
After a long weekend of multiple emergency vet visits, overnight hospitalization, neurological testing, ultrasounds, X-ray, full panel blood,
bile and urine tests it was confirmed today he has Hepatic Encephalopathy. This basically means his blood is not being fully filtered and is re-entering his system as a poison leading to seizures. While I now know that it’s happening it’ll take a CT scan to confirm the why. Up to this point it has been extremely costly and I’m coming to a crossroads financially on what more I can do for him which is why humbly, I’m starting this fund. We’re almost to a diagnosis to where we can treat him properly.
Im scared but very hopeful. I’ve been lucky enough to witness so many miracle pets. I hope Bones will be mine. I truly do believe he's
meant to share his calm, sweet energy with people who are in need of it.
I appreciate your time in reading, your consideration in donating , sharing or sending love to my sweet boy, Bones.
