Banchory Skatepark

Thank you to everyone who has supported this project since 2017. The Bellfield Park site has been leased by us from Aberdeenshire Council and we kicked off the build on the 18th of April 2022.

This project is driven entirely by our community. This is not a council built facility, this park has been designed by our Youth Group, plant & materials supplied by local contractors and built by a specialist skatepark builder “Concreate Skateparks” following a competitive tender and selection.

We’d like to thank all of our supporters from the Banchory Community Council, the community learning & development team at the Academy, our skatepark group trustees and committee members and especially the Banchory Skatepark Crew - the young dudes who have pushed for this facility for many years and have toughed it out while we tried our best to deliver.

I’d also like to thank our local suppliers, Scott McCombie, Bert McIntosh, BlackJack Engineering, LEF Peterhead, Breedon, 1Call and especially Paul McCusker from Marnor Ltd (timber) who sadly passed away on the 3rd of May.

If it was not for guys like Paul, Scott and Bert we’d not be able to build the skatepark we’d planned. Materials and plant prices have increased significantly since we awarded in 2020. Our suppliers are ensuring that we deliver what we promised.

We’d like to thank everyone that donates, please be assured that every penny goes into the skatepark and in future will support coaching, events and competitions. We know every penny counts, especially these days and we are overwhelmed by your generosity.
