Band Together for the Barretts
Donation protected
On the night of July 10, 2022, The Barrett family (my youngest brother's fam) was caught in an accidental house fire. Thanks to the quick actions of their 18-year-old daughter, and the help of a total stranger who was passing by, all lives were spared. While this is the greatest blessing of all, a need still remains.
The Barretts lost almost everything in the fire, including years of memories captured in photos that lined the walls of the house. We are working to help them hit the reset button. We appreciate the outpouring of love from organizations in our community thus far. Including but not limited to:
Digby’s Pub & Patio
FC Indiana
Knoy Apparel
Lafayette School Corporation
Legacy Courts
Market Square Lanes
Northview Church
Travis Best AAU Program
Scott Greeson Music
Sparkle Cakes
Additionally, so many individuals in the Greater Lafayette community and beyond have reached out to help the family that we cannot list them all. From donating toiletries and clothes to taking the younger children on fun play dates and all actions in between, we cannot thank you enough. As more friends, old and new, continue to contact the family, asking what they can do to help, we have come up with several ways to help us meet our goal.
Their home was a rental owned by Grace United Methodist Church, providing safe, affordable housing for this family for six incredible years. The reality is that they will not find this rate for a rental in today’s market. The best way to band together is to help this family make a sizeable down payment on a new home. We are also raising money to help with medical bills, household items, furnishings, and all the other unforeseen monetary needs.
