Bankruptcy, potentially moving & impending homelessness
Donation protected
I lost my job in October 2024.
As I moved back to Switzerland recently, it means I'm not eligible for social benefits & unemployment benefits. I can't afford to live in this apartment and need to move, or else I'll be homeless.
This is to cover the costs of moving to a new, far cheaper, apartment and government fees until I can earn money again. I don't have friends and family to aid me, so I need to hire a moving company, which costs up to 2000 CHF for about 40 miles here.
Either that or to cover 2 months of rent, which is 1500 CHF per month. I most likely found a new job from April onwards, but salaries don't get paid until the end of the month. Food runs about 500-600 CHF per Month.
Due to the way Switzerland works and my ineligibility for assistance, I'm only allowed to keep 1200 CHF for all my spendings (rent, food, etc.) for now. Everything else gets taken by the government to pay off health insurance and tax debt, which I wasn't able to afford due to losing my job.
I also have two cats, which I would no longer be able to feed... I've had them since they were a couple weeks old...
It would be be a great help. It would also help me afford a lawyer, since I do have a large sum from a inheritance that's being refused to paid out to me. But as I'm not eligible for government assistance, I'm also not eligible for help with a lawyer or court.
Here are the calculations for the two options:
Moving:
New Apartment: 750 CHF
Guarentee: 1500 CHF
Moving costs: 1000-2000 CHF
Lawyer: 1000 CHF
Totals: 4250 CHF+
Staying at the same Apartment until the start of a new Job in April:
Rent 2x: 3000 CHF
Lawyer: 1000 CHF
Totals: 4000 CHF
The goal is set to dynamic, as any amount would help the burden.
