Banks Family Adoption- the FINAL fundraiser
Donation protected
This precious 11 year old boy is "A". He was an orphan from Eastern Europe. He was removed from his home due to neglect at age 3, and for most of his life he was bullied due to the color of his skin.
In 2016 he signed up to participate in an orphan hosting program to get an opportunity to practice English and spend Christmas with a family.
That's where we saw his face for the first time on a list of children who were hoping for an opportunity to experience family life at Christmas time and gain a very important skill. Being a multi-racial family, we were excited to bring him into our home and show him there are lots of other people in the world who look just like him.
It did not take long for us to fall in love with each other. We fell for his silly playful spirit, and his kind empathetic soul. And he felt a sense of belonging that he had never experienced before.
We are pastors and our salary is small, but we just knew the Lord had brought this sweet boy all the way here because he was meant to be ours. After discovering that he was adoptable, we set out to accomplish the impossible. A $35,000 adoption was not in our budget. But our Lord has cattle on a thousand hills, so in faith we began our journey.
We have raised/paid approximately $32,000 over the last 3 years and we have only $3,500 left. We are anxious to complete this adoption and give our boy his new last name. We want to solidify once and for all his sense of belonging to our family and make him a Banks for life.
If you feel compelled, please donate. We are so close, and every little bit is appreciated! Thank you!
