Bannan Family Support
Donation protected
After recently being diagnosed with leukemia, Bob Bannan passed Saturday morning, March 19th.
His death was sudden, and he leaves behind his wife, Bridget, and his daughters, Kelly and Rebecca. Bob was an all-around family man and did absolutely everything for his girls. My name is Cara, and I've been Becky's best friend since the second grade. I've spent so much time with the Bannan family, and Bob truly treated me like his own, as he did each and every one of his daughters' friends.
Bob was an upstanding citizen and served on the Philadelphia Police Force for 30 years. When Bridget was pregnant with Kelly, he was shot in the line of duty. Still, he dutifully served until he retired in 2019. He loved to tell the story of the time he pulled over Philadelphia Eagles' safety, Jeremiah Trotter, for speeding on Roosevelt Boulevard. He also was an active participant in the Philadelphia Police and Fire Pipe and Drums and played his bagpipes any chance he got, to his family's chagrin. He also was a proud graduate (or "Norphan" as they call it!) of Northeast Catholic High School class of '79.
As I've said before, Bob was the epitome of a "family man". He was a caring husband and adored his daughters. His humor (dad jokes), wit, and booming laugh will be missed by all. Bob had the biggest heart and was such a compassionate person. He did everything he could to help anyone who needed it.
With his sudden death and recent cancer treatments, the Bannan family has been left to cover medical and funeral expenses. This GoFundMe will go towards helping his wife and daughters meet these financial needs as well as extra support for the family. Thank you for donating and sharing, please say a prayer for his family, and send a dad joke up to Heaven!
