Bansang community The Gambia
On 27th April I am walking the 25k London bridges walk to raise money to build a toilet block at the market garden that we created two years ago in Bansang a small village in Gambia. Our leaders have helped their scout group for many years, getting involved in many community projects to aid the scouts, the school and the hospital. In 2023, the first group of scouts went with our leaders to help create a Market Garden by clearing and fencing an area of land. The garden has since been planted with mango trees which will provide the community with fresh produce. In January 2025 another group of scouts and leaders are returning to Bansang, where we will also be staying at the Bansang school and supporting students in any way we can. The Scout group have also selected other community projects that will have the most impact for them. The total cost of this trip is £20,000 for the group, so any support you could give us would be massively appreciated by all members of the Ise Valley Bansang group. Thank you.
