Banta Family Medical Relief

Hello,
My cousin Melia, along with her husband Brandon and their two children, have faced an extraordinary amount of challenges over the past few years. Their journey has been marked by various trials, and they are in need of our support now more than ever.
Their dreams took them to downtown Franklin, where they opened a game store named "Gamers Cave" in February 2020. Unfortunately, just as they were getting started, the pandemic hit, causing them to close their doors. Despite their best efforts, the store had to be sold in December 2022. With Brandon working full-time as the sole income provider and Melia's efforts to run the store without an income, they found themselves in a difficult situation that the pandemic exacerbated.
In 2023, their challenges intensified. Melia had been feeling unwell for some time, and during a trip to Colorado to drop off their son at college in July 2023, her condition worsened. She was rushed to the emergency department where she was diagnosed with significant red blood cell loss and a lung mass. After returning home, her health continued to deteriorate, leading to a week-long hospital stay, numerous tests, and a diagnosis of severe anemia. Despite her determination to manage her illness and work, she has been unable to fully cover the costs of medical care due to the lack of benefits.
The Banta family's struggles took another devastating turn when Brandon experienced severe stomach pain recently. A visit to the ER revealed perforated diverticulitis, potentially requiring surgery. Brandon is currently hospitalized. As of 8/30/23 Brandon has deteriorated and is going back into emergent surgery to be placed on ECMO.
Brandon's job, offers short-term disability, covering 60% of his income. This will not take effect for 14 days. That’s 1 paycheck they lose.
The Banta family has faced one setback after another. They have bravely pursued their dreams, only to be knocked down repeatedly. I've started this GoFundMe campaign to provide them with a much-needed lifeline. Our goal is to alleviate the financial strain caused by mounting bills, loss of work, and the costs of medical treatments.
The funds raised will be used to:
Settle medical bills
Assist with mortgage and utility payments
Purchase groceries and necessary medication
If you are able to contribute, we express our heartfelt gratitude. Your support will make a significant difference in their lives. If you are unable to contribute at this time, we appreciate your kind thoughts and consideration.
Thank you for your generosity and for standing by the Sweet Banta family during these trying times.
Warm regards,
Jessica
