I am a friend and past employee of Tonic and Saints in Des Moines.  On August 27th 2020 the governor declared a proclamation to close bars and breweries and limits the sales of alcohol service hours for restaurants. This proclamation applies to only six counties. While the proclamation is set to expire September 20th 2020, we expect it to continue throughout winter months. We are trying to fight this proclamation. We have hired legal counsel which filed a lawsuit on Friday. We are asking for your support, including your monetary support, to assist us In this fight. Defeating this proclamation is the only way we can save our businesses, our employees, and our livelihood.  I will donate all money raised in this campaign by delivering a check to Brick Gentry, the law firm that has filed the lawsuit, to be applied to attorney fees for this lawsuit.
