Baraka Café: Mass. Ave. Relaunch!
Donation protected
The beloved Baraka Café (80.5 Pearl St., Cambridge, MA) needs your help.
For nearly 20 years we've been serving authentic Tunisian/Algerian dishes—flavorful, exotic, beautiful food you can't find anywhere else in Boston—in our tiny restaurant near Central Square. Customers have long salivated over our flatbread topped with caramelized onions and spices, our vegetarian baked-stuffed eggplant, our tagine of chicken with olives and preserved lemon, and our seven-spice flourless chocolate torte. Now, thanks to the forces of gentrification (and with little warning), we're being kicked out of our space. For our talented, hard-working staff, this is a moment of crisis.
But this is also a huge opportunity. With your help we can relaunch Baraka Café in a bigger, better space on Mass. Ave. between Harvard and Porter. Up front there's room to serve to-go items like breakfast sandwiches, perfect coffee, and our signature rose-and-mint-infused lemonade. In the back, the bigger kitchen will alow chefs Alia and Kerim to work their magic like never before: we're planning an exciting new menu that will stand shoulder to shoulder with the brightest lights on the Boston culinary scene.
To make this dream a reality we need you. By contributing to our campaign you'll be joining our family, which will entitle you to future discounts. Even more, you'll be showing that, in a world dominated by corporatism and profiteering, you stand for excellence, innovation, tolerance, and community.
With your help, the Baraka Café will relaunch in October. Please give generously!
