My name is Nicole, I’m currently 36 weeks pregnant and lost my grandmother this past Friday. My grandma was recently put through the wringer. Recently diagnosed with lung cancer, emphysema, congestive heart failure as well as other comorbidities. She has spent the last few years in and out of the hospital and rehabs trying to get better but this past year was the hardest and unfortunately she just couldn’t recover. She was the strongest person I knew. My grandmother grew up in Brooklyn as one of 10 children. She was put up for adoption with many of her other siblings (separated) due to her mother not being able to take care of her. She was adopted as a teenager into a loving family and met her husband at a young age. They were happily married until he passed in 2014. They had 5 children 3 girls and 2 boys. She was predeceased by 3 of her children who were lost unexpectedly at young ages due to heart failure. She loved a rough life and worked hard until her health declined after her husband passed in 2014. She has 11 grandchildren all of whom which love her immensely. She was a natural mother and grandmother to everyone she met and was adored so much. I’m trying to raise the money to get a headstone for her. Unfortunately her life insurance is only enough to cover the funeral with nothing left to spare. She always said that no matter what she wanted a headstone as we haven’t been able to get one yet for my grandfather or uncle. Anything at all helps. Thank you
