Cremation Expenses for Barbara Knop

Update: Our grandmother passed away around 3:40AM on January 20, 2024. We are in desperate need to be able to afford the rest of her costs to pick up her ashes from the funeral home. Her last request was to be cremated and placed in an urn with her late husband so she will be able to bother him forever. Thank you for your help during this time.

It is with a heavy heart that my grandmother, Barbara, is not going to recover from her stroke and is going into hospice care. She has made me promise her to not keep her alive and she is ready to go, since she will never be able to walk, eat, drink, or speak correctly again.

If you know my grandmother you know she has never feared death and is not fearful even now. She has done for others all of her life and now we want to respect her wishes and help her get whatever she wants.

Since my grandmother has no life insurance or money for a proper burial, we are raising money to pay for 1) transport to middlesboro nursing home from knoxville where she will be comfortable and with family at her side (her insurance doesn’t cover the drive and cost is over $900) and 2) preparing for the cost of her wish of cremation (this was around $2000)

Thank you to all the people that have loved my grandmother, listened to her crazy stories, and supported her during this time. I know she is saying to not be sad but to be happy that she got to spend a wonderful 81 years with the people she loves, and that’s all of you. Thank you for helping in any way whatsoever.
