Barbara L. McNeil Memorial Scholarship
Donation protected
Barbara (Bennett) McNeil was a proud member of the Frederick Douglass High School class of 1960. She often spoke fondly of her days in the sacred halls of her beloved Douglass and seized every opportunity to remind everyone that Douglass High is the second-oldest U.S. high school created specifically for African American students. She loved EVERYTHING Douglass and stayed abreast of what was happening with her beloved Ducks.
As a living memorial to honor Barbara, it is only fitting that a scholarship for a member of the class of 2021 be awarded this Spring. The scholarship will represent Barbara's unwavering determination, her love for reading, football, and her endless encouragement toward academic excellence. Barbara, will forever join in singing "Hail to thee! Hail to thee! Hail oh Douglass High"!
All proceeds from your donation will be included in the scholarship. The scholarship recipient will be awarded this spring in collaboration with the Alumnae Association and school administration. Our goal is to raise $1960.00 signifying the year Barbara graduated from Douglass High.
