Since January 2021 my momma, Barbara McWhorter, has been suffering from major nosebleeds. She had a couple of surgical procedures to hopefully stop them, but they continued. On Christmas Day 2023 Momma was once again admitted to the hospital due to the nosebleeds. The following Friday, a cath procedure was performed to see if the source of the bleeding could be found. This risky procedure caused a blood clot to break loose, travel through the artery to her brain, and cause a massive stroke. The stroke has left Momma paralyzed on the left side. She also had a cardiac event following the stroke. While she is currently in a in-patient rehabilitation facility and making progress towards healing, the doctors say it will be months or even years before she is back to anywhere near normal. All of this happened while Momma has been working hard to pay to have her dream cabin built. Now due to this the hospital bills are racking up, and she is quickly running out of funds to pay for the cabin to be built. Also, due to the modifications to make the home wheelchair accessible the build is costing more than originally anticipated. My hope is that as good as Momma has always been to all of us then each of us can return the favor by coming together to raise some money to help mom with the cabin and hospital/doctor bills. She will have ongoing bills as she follows up with a team of doctors along with continued physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. Every little bit helps. Thanks in advance.
