One of my dearest friends lost her beloved mom, Barbara “Mimi” Snoddy, after a 3 ½ year battle with cancer. She got her wings on November 5th,2020 at approximately 10:25am. In true Mimi fashion, she waited for the arrival of her baby girls, Lisa and April before making her journey to heaven. Mimi always had a smile on her face and all of her family has been inundated with condolences and stories of her life. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Barbara spent her entire life giving to others before giving to herself. She would always be there for everyone when they needed her, regardless of the circumstance. She was an amazing woman who fought like a prized fighter until the end. A strong fight by a true warrior.
Barbara succumb to Secondary CNS Lymphoma, a rare and aggressive cancer that occurs in less than 1% of the population that is diagnosed with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. Her battle initially began in June of 2017 with Follicular NHL and progressed from there on. With that said, she was diagnosed and BEAT cancer FOUR times before it took her from this earth.
We never truly get over a loss, but we can evolve and grow from it. I have created this Go Fund Me for 2 primary reasons; first to assist in the cost of a beautiful and deserved memorial for a selfless woman. The medical costs her family has assumed has in itself been unsurmountable. However, the second and most important request for your donation is to aid in the research of Secondary CNS. As such a rare and grave diagnosis, there is little treatment. All additional proceeds will be donated to clinical trials for immunotherapy treatment for SCNS. Your donation will help increase comprehensive educational and support programs to aid in the awareness and knowledge of Secondary CNS Lymphoma for those living with this unforgiving disease.
