Barbara Romanowski (Nanny) Funeral Fund

On the morning of January 8th, Nanny told us she was “just gonna close her eyes”. On January 11th 2019, those beautiful eyes closed forever as her close family sat by her side and heaven gained their angel back.

Anyone who has ever met Barbara, even once, knows she was one of a kind.  She was the most giving, loving, and selfless soul.  Over the course of her 80 year life, she has taken so many people into her home without question. Whether anyone needed food, shelter, money, or just someone to talk to, Nanny gave everything that she could, or would find anyway whatsoever to help.  She was deeply religious and relied heavily on her faith to God, Jesus, and the Blessed Mother.  She would write daily notes of thanks and affirmation to God, asking for help for anyone who was struggling, and thanking Him for what she had. Nanny's compassion for others was unmatched. She was an empath; and felt everyone's pain as her own. She loved everyone so deeply and so fully, and forgave effortlessly. She never asked for anything in return except to be loved, and we hope that she knows how deeply and truly loved and appreciated she is. We are devastated to have to say goodbye to her so suddenly.

Due to Nanny's giving nature, finances have been an issue.  Her passing came unexpectedly, and our family is doing everything we can to come up with the money for a memorial service for her.  We would like to have a viewing and Catholic memorial service for her, followed by her cremation, which were her wishes.  Any extra money will go to help my Pappy to get caught up with their mortgage and bills, as he relies solely on his fixed Navy Veteran benefits.  We hope to have the services scheduled within one week but thankfully the funeral home is allowing us 30 days for payment.  All funds will be transferred to John Romanowski Sr., her husband, and a Retired Navy veteran.

If you've ever been graced with the love of Barbara, our Nanny, we please ask for your help during this very difficult time.  We all wish we could have just one more taste of her pasta fagioli, or one more long, colorful conversation with her; hopefully we can have just one last chance to honor her memory at a service that she deserves. Thank you.
