Help Save Barbara's Home
Donation protected
These days, the struggle for social justice sometimes has to be fought case by case. Barbara, a former Program Director for the Girl Scouts, has fended off cancer, heart surgery, kidney failure, 3 strokes and threatened eviction to stay in her home. After a three-year struggle, she has won the right to buy it back… She just needs a little help from her many supporters.
Like many Detroiters, Barbara Campbell lost her job after the banks trashed the economy. When she was simultaneously diagnosed with cancer, she applied for a mortgage modification but, like many Detroiters, was victimized by foreclosure fraud and threatened with eviction.
Unlike mnay others, Barbara stayed in her home and fought this unjust turn of events in the courts and, with help from her many supporters, in public protests of her treatement.
Now, the bank has agreed to sell the home back to her at a fair price. She has reached out to family and friends to borrow the needed funds, and her supporters can help with donations that make the cost more affordable. She is grateful for any amount of help!
