Hoffman Teacher Barbara Comstock Needs Our Help
Donation protected
Our beloved friend Barbara needs the support of her friends and community. In May, upon her return from teaching the Hoffman process, her husband Jimmy Chadwick was given a diagnosis of liver cancer and a dire prognosis. The two of them spent 4 weeks in Southern California in search of treatment, but Jimmy’s health began to deteriorate rapidly while they waited for test results. Jimmy is now very weak and any benefit from treatment at this point is outweighed by the cost to whatever quality of life he has left. Jimmy has recently entered hospice.
Barbara says “I try to put money fears to the side as we navigate this scary time. I need and want to be present for Jimmy and for myself. He can’t be left for more than a couple hours. This is a strange and powerful time in my life. Once things have resolved I intend to return to work. All of this takes time and attention and love and compassion. Now I am spending time with him, feeling our love and our loss. I am with my husband at the end of his life."
Our goal is to cover Barbara and Jimmy’s living expenses as well as the unexpected and non-reimbursable expenses related to Jimmy’s health crisis. Barbara has been unable to work since May, while she takes care of Jimmy. We want to raise at least $65,000 as soon as possible to cover their basic expenses so that Barbara can be by Jimmy’s side without the added anxiety of income loss and savings depletion. Money has never been a driving force for Barbara. She has devoted her life to the healing of others, and she has felt great benefit and gratitude for the work she has been able to do. Please help us by making a contribution, no amount is too small, to support Barbara in being able to be present for Jimmy at the end of his life. With love and light.
