Keep Bar Bayeux Jazz Alive in Brooklyn
Dear friends, neighbors, jazz lovers and cocktail enthusiasts,
However, as with many small businesses these days, we are struggling to keep our doors open. We humbly ask for whatever donations you can afford in order to keep our beloved venue in operation.
Please read what they have to say-
“I would like to strongly support and stand behind the continuing institution of the historic bar and jazz performance space Bar Bayeux. I feel this Club is of the utmost importance for both the New York jazz scene not to mention the New York music culture. I hope that the city can continue to support the endeavors of this great musical space in Brooklyn!"
- George Garzone
"The few times that I have had the opportunity of performing at Bar Bayeux it has always felt like a second home. Like playing a gig in my living room. The intimate setting of place allows you to feel the energy of the audience right away. It has quickly become one of my favorite places to play in NY. Thank you Jeremy and Jerome for giving a place to call home. "
- Johnathan Blake
"In our jazz community it should be obvious, and pertinent the concern for the artists and the venues they perform in. If hearing live music has a place in your heart, even though we all may have taken it for granted until now, then how about paying it forward now if you can. You have to take care of the well or else there is no water!!”
- Victor Lewis
“Places like Bar Bayeux bring much needed culture to our neighborhoods, especially in these stressful times, we need to keep such places alive and thriving”
- Luis Perdomo
“I see Bar Bayeux as a community space, merging voices and people from the neighborhood with some of the best musicians in New York. This space gave me a means to connect with a truly diverse audience, local to Flatbush and Lefferts Gardens. I feel so much gratitude for spaces like Bar Bayeux, where I feel comfortable and free to express music the way I want to.”
- Caroline Davis

“Bar Bayeux, manager Jeremy Stratton and staff have provided a warm and supportive environment for the music to flourish and grow. It will be of the utmost importance to the community of jazz musicians and those who love and enjoy the music for the venue to remain open once it’s safe for patronage.”
- Nasheet Waits
“Bar Bayeux is an important place for jazz music in New York City. It has presented great musicians, taking the music forward in a venue where people can be there and feel it. It is a place of the old school, where younger musicians can invite some elders in a real breeding ground for creativity and exchange. This club has become an important part of the scene in a very short time!”
- Peter Bernstein
“When the smoke clears, I’m looking forward to playing at Bar Bayeux again!“
- Jeremy Pelt
“Bar Bayeux has been a very important venue for the NYC jazz scene since it first opened. It’s imperative that we do everything we can to keep this going in the future! Please donate if you can to this great cause.”
- Robin Verheyen
“One of my fondest memories of performing in 2020 before the Covid-19 pandemic ended all gigs is my trio gig at Bar Bayeux back in January. The room was packed, the audience was silent and engaged, and the vibe was truly special that night. Bar Bayeux is an amazing gem of a venue that prioritizes music making and intimacy in an informal setting. It's exactly the kind of venue that we - both musicians and the public - can’t afford to lose during this crisis.”
- Adam Birnbaum
- Jure Pukl
"Since its opening, Bar Bayeux has become beloved in the neighborhood for good music and great drinks. The energy of the bar is really special, its live concerts are very impressive, featuring some of the heaviest musicians in the New York Jazz scene. You can enjoy the music in a super intimate environment, literally from a couple of feet away, and for free. The place has brought a lot of life to the neighborhood and the crowd that hangs there is an example of the diversity of the area. And, of course, it is going to be hard to find a place with better wine and cocktails at affordable prices in the whole of Prospect Lefferts Gardens.”
- Marta Sanchez
"Bar Bayeux is helping to keep live Brooklyn jazz alive through their ongoing support of great musicians; please consider helping them continue to thrive and survive through these difficult times!”
- Lawrence Fields
"Nightlife has always been integral to the growth and vitality of a neighborhood. That combined with the fact that Bar Bayeux is one of the few if not only places to hear live music for little or no cost make it indispensable to the Flatbush section of Brooklyn where it's located. Please donate to help Bar Bayeux to continue to do it's great work."
-Rodney Green
"In a city like New York, which is a nest for fervent artistic minds, Bar Bayeux is, for jazz music, one of the rare gems that keep it real. It has already gained importance for historical future, in my opinion. The big size of crowds attending the shows at Bar Bayeux have made it clear, the neighborhood and the music people need this place."
- Simona Premazzi
“Bar Bayeux is one of my favorite places to go play or listen to music; neighborhood-y, relaxed, with a carefully selected program of music and a spectacular wine list. A real gem."

It provides a crucial outlet for our incredible jazz community to gather and share our music in a respectful, welcoming space. And if that’s not enough, the wine and cocktails are delicious!”
