5km runs for Sophie Ford

OVERVIEW: There will be two 5k runs taking place; one in Writtle, Essex, and the other in Hastings, East Sussex.

WRITTLE

This is a 5k run (walk, cycle, horse ride or dog walk) in memory of Sophie Ford; A former student and a loving friend at Writtle University College studying Veterinary Physiotherapy, who had a love for animals. The money raised will be given to the Barby Keel Animal Sanctuary where she spent many hours volunteering.

The 5km will take place on the 16th February and the starting point of the event will be within Writtle University. The starting time will be 11:30am.

As she loved the colours red and yellow, we are asking the people who participate to wear these colours if possible.

HASTINGS

We will be collaborating in this event with South Saxons Hockey Club, who will be running a parallel event in Hastings on Sunday 11th February where members of the hockey club will be running a 5k. It will be starting and finishing at Horntye to raise money for the Barby Keel Animal Sanctuary in memory of Sophie.

Both runs are raising money in aid of The Barby Keel Animal Sanctuary and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause.

The Barby Keel Animal Sanctuary is a non-profit making charity. Re-homing or providing permanent refuge for abused, abandoned and unwanted animals. They operate a non-destruction policy.
