Worldwide we lose one man to suicide every single minute!
The declining mental health amongst men combined with the old believe that showing emotions and vulnerability is a weakness is causing suicide to be one of the leading causes of death.
Together with you I want to prevent this from happening.
My name is Anton Nootenboom, also known as the barefoot Dutchman.
I have spent 10 years in the Dutch Army and went on 3 tours to the Middle East.
In 2019 I became the first and only person ever to reach base camp of Mount Everest barefoot.
In 2021 I set the Guinness World Record of longest barefoot hike.
3019 km along the east coast of Australia to raise awareness and funds for men's mental health.
Now I will break my own record, by walking 5000 km from LA to NYC, in the United States.
Why?
Because men do not feel safe to speak up whenever in need.
To show that our body and mind are way stronger than we make ourselves believe and that it has got nothing to do with being a man or a woman, but everything to do with being human.
But I can't do this by myself.
I'm going to need your help to raise awareness and spread the message. The more people we can reach the more we can help.
By donating you will help men to get help. The beneficiaries of this walk are:
Movember (US)
We are mind (NL)
Brave men talk foundation
Help me to help them,
together we can.
